About us is actually a bit of a white lie, it's only me :)

I started Royston Clothing in 2019 with one goal in mind, to create quality clothing with sustainability at the heart.

Way back when I was little I always wanted to work with animals but my career took a different path. I had dyslexia from a young age and would draw what I couldn't spell. This lead me down the path of graphic design and over the last 10 years I have designed for brands like Fat Face and Animal to some of the biggest names on the UK high streets. It was recently when I thought "Why can't I design clothing and prints that aim to give back to the environment with minimal inpact". That's when Royston Clothing was born.

The fashion business is not famed for its sustainable ways of working, but it is now starting to make big changes in the way materials and good are being produced. Nike recently published the Circular Design Guide because "Design has the opportunity to take on a powerful role in making the world a better place."  You can read this in more detail here: www.nikecirculardesign.com. More and more brands are turning to sustainable sources as they know that every little change can make a massive difference to the world we live in and I believe in the next 10 years we will see a massive change in production and product lifecycles.

I also run my own blog, www.thedesignshrimp.com, which aims to educate the next generation of print & textiles designers in ways they can incorporate sustainable ways of working and thinking in their work. It's full of interviews I did with people in the industry, as well as shop reports and tutorials.

Thanks for visiting.
